Philly Blunts 15 days of fury! DAY #3

Something a little different here… as per usual.
Started this in 2007 and ended up finding the project last year and switching the beat to what it is now. I really love all the samples in this and am quite proud of this tune as its like nothing i’ve ever done before.

Coming out soon on Perth label – Obstacles Recordings.

Let me know what you think.

Philly Blunt – P.EARTH

I’m baaaaaaaack!

Imogen Heap

Imogen Heap is an amazing artist, first shooting to fame with her incredible song Hide and Seek. Done a few years ago before auto-tune and vocoders were in… and then out, its only vocals and beautiful, and also ripe for bootlegging :) If you haven’t heard the original do yourself a favour and listen now:

Imogen Heap – Hide & Seek

There is a slew of remixes and bootlegs of this tune, mostly shite but some goodness amongst the crap. It was also butchered by som douche called Jason Derulo for this tune. Pretty horrible lyrics Jason – but it’s still a bit catchy – DAMN YOU!

Anyways onto some decent remixes.
First up a pretty standard proggy house tune from Trigitaliz, but it’s not bad.

Next we have one from Afrojack – not sure if its legit but it’s here anyways.

Thirdly a kooky remix from Styrafoamkid, who has done a great job… He also has some other cool bootlegs on his SoundCloud, check the Nirvana one ;)

Lastly and definitely my favourite, we have a subtle yet beautiful version from Clay Chagas. Clay has added some pianos, strings and orchestral elements which really add to the tune without taking away from the original. I’ve also added in a version he’s done of Gary Jules’ Mad World – again, great stuff.

And to finish off this massive post today, the tune that got me on the Imogen Heap vibe today, a remix from Russian Zi2do who’s done a dnb version of a different Imogen Heap song – Just For Now.
Phew – enjoy.

More of Da Fresh-ness

Well yesterdays post turned out to be a very popular one – our busiest day yet… and as promoised, i’ve got plenty more gold coming this week.
2 brand new tunes today from someone I posted about only a few weeks ago.
First up Da Fresh has brought Corona’s ‘The Rhythm of the Night’ into the Twenty-Ten with a Electro House Minimal Techno Progressive mix (his words) which is well cool. Followed by a sublime boot of Placebo’s Protect Me.

Corona – Rhythm of the Night (Da Fresh boot)

Placebo – Protect Me (Da Fresh boot)

Da Fresh!

Da Fresh has released an amazing amount of tunes on some of the biggest labels around, including Pasha, Klang, Loulou, Moonbootique, Big Big Soundz, Armarda Music, amongst countless others, and also had one licensed to Fedde Le Grand’s mix on Toolroom Records.
So he knows how to rock a beat and a party. He’s shared with me, and thus you all, a couple of the best bootlegs i’ve heard in a long time. For more info and some great mixes, check out his SoundCloud.

The Prodigy – No Good (Da Fresh boot)

Technotronic – Pump Up the jam (Da Fresh Goes To Miami boot)

Brooklyn Fire

Tommie Sunshine is starting up a new imprint, Brooklyn Fire, and what better way and time to do it? Here is a nice little compilation with 20 bootlegs to get the party in Miami started. This is a mean package and all in 320’s. Here is a statement from the man himself:
“When I thought about launching my new imprint, Brooklyn Fire and the impending WMC I thought the best way to cause a stink was to get the artists whom I dig and have them tear apart something they consider a “classic”. Enjoy these 20 works and I look forward to your support of Brooklyn Fire.”
